Trout Stocking Program Ordering Information
The spring trout sale will have both brook and rainbow trout available. Pick up dates for the spring sale are May 10, 2010 for brook trout and May 11 for rainbow trout at 12:00 p.m. at the Bangor USDA Service Center.
Valid Stocking permits from the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife must be obtained before you can pick up your fish. A copy of your approved stocking permit must be submitted to us via e-mail or US mail.
To obtain a stocking permit please, contact our office, or click here. Any permitting questions must be directed to the IF&W at (207) 287-5202. Please allow IF&W two weeks to process your application. If you have obtained a 5 year permit you must bring it with you on the pickup day. Please note that IF&W is now charging $10 for a 5 year permit. If you have an existing permit you will not be charged until you renew. There will also be a $5 fee for replacement copies.
It is extremely important that your fish are picked up at noon. The oxygen bags can only support the fish for a limited time, late in the afternoon the fish may begin to suffocate. We want your fish to make it to their new home safely.
By ordering trout from the Penobscot County SWCD you agree to our Trout Sale Pickup Policy. "If you do not pickup your order by 2:00 p.m. on the dates listed above the District reserves the right to sell or relocate your order, unless arrangements have been made with the District. No refunds will be issued for damaged, deceased or relocated fish.
Due to banking fees there is a small handling fee for ordering trout online.
